Thiago Alcantara, a product of Barcelona's esteemed academy, is set to return to the Catalan club after a four-year stint at Liverpool. The midfielder's comeback has been confirmed, with the agreement between the parties reported to be 100% done.

Thiago's time at Anfield saw him play 98 games, scoring three goals, and contributing to a successful period for the Reds. Highlights of his tenure include winning the FA Cup, a League Cup, the Community Shield, and finishing as runners-up in the Champions League in 2022.

However, Thiago's best football was arguably played at the Allianz Arena, where he won seven titles during his time with Bayern Munich. Notably, he joined Bayern the same year Pep Guardiola moved to Bavaria.

Now, Thiago is set to join Hansi Flick's backroom team at Barcelona. The German coach, who signed a contract with the club on May 29, 2024, led the team to win the Supercopa de EspaΓ±a on January 12, 2025. The details of Thiago's integration into the club's travel routine are not yet specified, but it is expected that he will be named among the traveling staff for Barcelona's upcoming visit to St. James' Park.

Barcelona's Champions League campaign this season begins with a home fixture against Atletico Madrid. The club will then face Newcastle United in the Champions League on Thursday, September 18. Thiago's involvement in these matches remains to be seen, but his return to Barcelona is certainly an exciting development for the club and its fans.

Thiago has been without a team since leaving Liverpool, and his decision to return to Barcelona as part of Hansi Flick's staff marks a new chapter in his career. Adria Albets, a reliable source, has reported on the imminent comeback, adding to the anticipation surrounding Thiago's return to the club where it all began.
