Formula One driver Pierre Gasly signs a new deal, securing his partnership with Alpine until the year 2028.

In the tumultuous world of Formula 1, one driver has stood out for his resilience and talent amidst challenging times - Pierre Gasly. The French racer, currently driving for the last-placed team in the Constructors' Championship, Alpine, has been praised by team principal Flavio Briatore for his attitude, dedication, and talent.

Gasly joined Alpine in 2023, following a three-and-a-half-year stint at the small Bull team. Since then, he has competed in 60 Grands Prix with Alpine and scored all their points in 2025. In his Formula 1 career, which began in 2017 for Toro Rosso, Gasly has competed in 168 races and finished on the podium twice in the last three years.

The new contract for Gasly with Alpine spans over six Formula 1 seasons, extending his stay with the team until 2028. However, the position for the second seat in the upcoming Formula 1 season at Alpine remains unanswered. After replacing Jack Doohan with Franco Colapinto in 2025, Alpine's choice for the second seat remains uncertain, with possible candidates including Paul Aron and others.

Flavio Briatore named Gasly as the leading driver for Alpine in the upcoming Formula 1 season, expressing dissatisfaction with the results and performances of Colapinto last week. Meanwhile, Colapinto, currently driving for Alpine, is waiting for his first points.

As of now, Alpine lies in last place in the Constructors' Championship with 20 points. Despite the team's struggles, Gasly's consistent performances have been a beacon of hope for the future.
