Foundation Building in a Nation is the Role of Teachers, affirms Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat
In the heart of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the Ravindra Natya Grah played host to a significant event on Teacher's Day. The ceremony, organised by the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), saw a large gathering of teachers, public representatives, education officials, and members of the IMC.
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, in his speech, expressed his belief that teachers play a vital role in making India a developed nation. He emphasised the dual role of educators in shaping both the character and culture of the students. Bhargav stated that teachers not only teach knowledge but also nurture values and thoughts, defining a student's life.
Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, noted poet Satya Narayan Sattan, MLA Shankar Lalwani, and MLA Mahendra Hardia were among the attendees at the event. Silawat, in his address, highlighted the importance of teachers as the foundation of nation building and the true custodians of the nation's heritage. Sattan described teachers as living embodiments of Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu deity of knowledge, music, and art.
Lalwani, in his speech, echoed Bhargav's sentiments, emphasising the crucial role of teachers in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047. He also acknowledged the increasing responsibilities of teachers, including non-academic duties.
Over 190 teachers from government schools across Indore were felicitated for their exceptional contribution to education. The teachers were honoured with shawls, coconuts, citations, and mementoes. MLA Ramesh Mendola also took the opportunity to express his gratitude towards the teachers for their dedication and hard work.
In a significant step towards ensuring quality education in government schools, the IMC has established 12 model schools instead of the earlier proposed 6, under its initiative. This move is expected to significantly improve the quality of education in Indore's government schools.
