Four adolescents indicted for homicide following a lethal stabbing of a 14-year-old lad at a Bronx recreation area.

In a tragic incident that occurred on August 5, 2025, at around 7:40 p.m. in the Bronx's Norwood section, a 14-year-old boy named Angel Mendoza lost his life in a violent attack at Williamsbridge Oval Park.

The four accused in this case are Andrew Ansah and Jordan Williams, both 18, and two other defendants aged 15 and 16. They are facing charges that include murder, manslaughter, gang assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the Bronx District Attorney, the attack was a retaliation for an earlier stabbing of the 15-year-old teen's brother. The incident was allegedly captured on a cellphone, which also shows two other alleged assailants who are still at large.

The statement from the Bronx District Attorney described the playground as a "killing field" after the incident. Angel Mendoza, who was not involved in the earlier incident, was struck in the face with a 9 mm handgun. The teens are accused of beating, pistol whipping, and stabbing the victim.

Mendoza was transported to Jacobi Hospital, where he died from his injuries. The goal is to bring justice for the victim, Angel, and bring some peace to his loved ones.

The Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark stated that they will hold the accused accountable and seek justice for the victim. Ansah and Williams are scheduled to reappear in court on Nov. 18, and their co-defendants are scheduled to reappear in youth court on Sept. 2.

Attorneys representing Ansah and Williams did not immediately respond to requests for comment. This is a developing story and may be updated.
