In a significant move against organised crime, the Krefeld Police Headquarters have carried out two major drug raids on May 16 and May 21, 2025. The operations, transmitted via news aktuell and distributed by ots, targeted multiple apartments in downtown Krefeld.
On May 16, police seized a large quantity of marijuana, smaller amounts of hashish and cocaine, and a four-figure sum of money from four apartments. Two men were provisionally arrested. A week later, on May 21, police searched three more apartments and confiscated hashish, numerous prescription medications, and another four-figure sum of money. They also discovered a professionally set-up cannabis plantation with a large number of plants. Two more men were provisionally arrested.
Four suspects, aged 21, 24, 35, and 59, have been ordered detained by the investigating judge at Krefeld District Court on charges of trafficking in narcotics on a commercial scale, trafficking in cannabis on a commercial scale, and illegal cultivation of cannabis.
The police operations have dismantled a drug gang connected through their involvement in large-scale drug trafficking and the illegal cultivation of cannabis. The four arrested individuals are suspected to be part of this gang, and the police found large quantities of drugs, a cannabis plantation being set up, weapons, and significant cash linked to the drugs trade during raids on multiple locations.
The relationship between the four suspects is the subject of ongoing investigations. No further information will be provided at this time.
