Four individuals, sought by warrants, were apprehended by the Federal Police at the BAB 11 checkpoint, a former border crossing at Pomellen, within a span of twelve hours.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Pasewalk, part of the Federal Police Directorate Bad Bramstedt, played a pivotal role in a recent cross-border operation. Located in Pomellen, Germany, the inspectorate is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including border police protection, railway police tasks, maritime police, and environmental police tasks in the North and Baltic Seas.
On Monday, at 15:20, a 34-year-old Lebanese man was stopped by the Federal Police Inspectorate Pasewalk. The news about this operation was transmitted via news aktuell. Around the same time, at midnight, a 42-year-old Polish man was stopped as the driver of a Seat Leon with Polish registration.
The Lebanese man was wanted by the STA Berlin for arrest and enforcement of a sentence for bodily injury. If he did not pay a fine of 1,320.00 euros, 10.00 euros in cash, and 415.50 euros in costs, he would have faced 88 days in prison. After paying the total amount of 1,745.50 euros, the Lebanese man was allowed to continue his journey towards Berlin.
Meanwhile, the Polish man had an arrest warrant issued by the STA Hannover for arrest and enforcement of a sentence for offenses under ยง 29 BtMG. He was taken to Hannover for presentation to the competent local court.
The operation also involved a Flixbus stop, where around 02:30, a 40-year-old Lithuanian and a 58-year-old Pole were stopped as passengers. The Lithuanian had an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office Mannheim for the offense of serious theft. The Pole had an arrest warrant issued by the STA Mannheim for the offense of theft.
The Federal Police Directorate Bad Bramstedt has a maritime component, "Federal Police Sea," to monitor the sea border in the North and Baltic Seas. The directorate employs approximately 2,600 employees, including police officers, administrative staff, and contract employees.
