Funding for the Future Initiative has secured its first high-profile investor.
In a competitive finale held on August 11th in Hamburg, Philipp Haas was crowned the first Future Fundstar. The inaugural competition, organised by Fundview, NFS Netfonds, and Azemos Vermögensverwaltung, attracted talented newcomers and established fund operators alike.
Haas triumphed over Daniel Kröger, Christian Jagd, and Arne Briest with his Venture Capital Strategies Wikifolio. The jury, led by Dr. Jens Ehrhardt, praised Haas' strategy for its "genuine alpha approach."
The jury commended the strategy's favorable risk-reward ratio and relatively low maximum loss of 16 percent. Since 2012, Haas' strategy has generated a return of over 1,100 percent.
Haas expressed that winning the title would aid his plans for the coming months and years. He has the liberty to invest the 2 million euro prize money as he sees fit.
The competition was designed to provide investment talents with a new and alternative path, and Haas hopes the competition continues regularly. He believes it offers a valuable opportunity for both established fund operators and talented newcomers looking to launch their own fund.
The decision to crown Haas as the first Future Fundstar was a difficult one for the jury, given the high calibre of the other contestants. However, Haas' consistent performance and innovative strategy made him the clear winner.
With this victory, Haas joins an elite group of fund operators who have demonstrated exceptional skill and potential in the field. The Future Fundstar competition is expected to become a prestigious event in the financial industry, and Haas' win marks the beginning of a promising career in investment management.
