The German national team faced a challenging match against Northern Ireland, following a disappointing 0-2 defeat in Bratislava against Slovakia. Despite the pressure, coach Julian Nagelsmann remained optimistic about the team's performance in the last 30 minutes of the game.

The team's offensive struggles in the first half were evident, with too many passing mistakes and sloppiness marring their play. However, Serge Gnabry scored a beautiful lob in the 7th minute to give Germany an early lead, thanks to a nice pass from Isaac Price.

Unfortunately, Northern Ireland equalised in the 34th minute after a corner, with Isaac Price finding the back of the net. This setback seemed to invigorate the German team, who responded positively in the second half.

In the 68th minute, Maximilian Beier and Nadiem Amiri were introduced as substitutes, replacing Woltemade and Gnabry. Amiri capitalised on this opportunity, scoring a goal from a close range after a cross from David Raum, retaking the lead for Germany.

Florian Wirtz, a member of the team, had expressed the desire to do better after the Bratislava game. Wirtz lived up to his words, scoring a marvelous free-kick from around 23 meters in the game, saving Nagelsmann from some uncomfortable days.

The German team's defensive performance in the first half was less than satisfactory, with sleepiness and lapses in concentration contributing to their struggles. However, they managed to tighten up in the second half, providing a more solid base for their offensive push.

The DFB team, which had to give away 5,000 tickets for the match day due to unsold tickets, received a warm welcome from the crowd. Mats Hummels, a 2014 World Cup winner, was officially bid farewell before the game, with the crowd cheering and performing a choreo in his honour.

Rudi Völler, the DFB sports director, emphasised the need for the team to start with fire from the first minute. Despite the team's rocky start, they managed to rally and secure a victory, demonstrating their resilience and determination.

Nnamdi Collins, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Angelo Stiller, Jonathan Tah, and Leon Goretzka were among the players who had to sit on the bench for the game. Robert Andrich and Leon Goretzka, who had already played in the defeat against Slovakia, were also on the bench against Northern Ireland, with Jonathan Tah likely replaced by Robin Koch.

Overall, the German national team's performance against Northern Ireland was a mixed bag. While they struggled in the first half, they managed to turn things around in the second half and secure a much-needed victory. The team will look to build on this performance as they continue their journey in international football.
