Galaxy Tab S11 adopts 11-inch screen size, discards Bluetooth from S Pen, follows iPad's design layout in placement.
Samsung Unveils Galaxy Tab S11 Series: Thinner, More Powerful, and S Pen Redesign
Samsung has officially launched its new Galaxy Tab S11 series, consisting of two models: the standard 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 and the high-end Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra with a 14.6-inch display. Both tablets boast a sleek design, improved functionality, and enhanced performance.
The Galaxy Tab S11 series features a newly designed S-Pen, which is supported by both models. Unlike its predecessor, the S-Pen no longer supports Bluetooth, limiting its functionality to interactions very close to the display. The magnetic holder for the S-Pen has been relocated from the back to the frame of the device, improving handling and design elegance. The S Pen is now mounted to the side of the tablet, similar to Apple's iPad's Apple Pencil. Notably, charging is no longer required for the new S Pen on the Galaxy Tab S11 series.
Both tablets are very thin, with the Tab S11 being 5mm thick and the Ultra being 5.6mm thick. They are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ and come with 12GB of RAM, with the top-tier 1TB Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra offering 16GB of RAM. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra also features a smaller display notch, housing a single 12MP front-facing sensor.
The tablets are equipped with quad-speakers, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and a microSD card slot. The Galaxy Tab S11 has an 8,400 mAh battery, while the Ultra has an impressive 11,600 mAh battery.
Samsung has made some changes to the S Pen's features due to low user engagement. The S Pen's Bluetooth features, such as air gestures and camera remote control, are no longer available on the Galaxy Tab S11.
The Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra are now available, with prices starting at $799 for the standard model and $1,199 for the Ultra. However, the 12.4-inch "Plus" model is not included in this year's lineup.
With its redesigned S-Pen, improved design, and enhanced performance, the Galaxy Tab S11 series is set to offer a compelling alternative for tablet users seeking a premium experience.
