Gardening Enthusiasts, It's Time for the Master Gardener's Plant Sale
As the weather warms up, gardening enthusiasts across Iowa can look forward to a series of plant sales taking place throughout the month of May. These events, hosted by local Master Gardener groups, are a fantastic way to support these organisations and stock up on annuals, perennials, and vegetable seedlings for the upcoming gardening season.
The plant sales are scheduled to start on May 4 in Burlington, Albia, and Newton. Residents in these areas will have the opportunity to visit their local sales and purchase a variety of plants to brighten up their gardens.
For those living in the central and eastern parts of the state, there are several plant sales to choose from. The Plant Sale Extravaganza in Ames, the sales in Marion and Decorah on May 10, and the sales in Dubuque, Bettendorf, and Dewitt and Clinton on May 18 are all excellent options.
In the western part of Iowa, the plant sales in Maquoketa on May 11, West Union and Glenwood on May 11, and Atlantic on May 11 are not to be missed. Additionally, the sale in Marengo will take place on May 10, and the sale in Oskaloosa will take place on May 18.
The plant sale in Council Bluffs will occur on May 4, and the sale in Muscatine will take place on May 11.
These plant sales are a great opportunity for both seasoned gardeners and beginners to find a wide selection of plants to suit their needs. Whether you're looking to add some colour to your garden with annuals, create a beautiful display with perennials, or grow your own vegetables, you're sure to find what you need at one of these sales.
By attending these plant sales, you're not only supporting your local Master Gardener group, but you're also helping to promote gardening education and community involvement. So, mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy the beautiful world of gardening this May!
