Gas supply company Sahatransneftegaz is under suspicion for excessive pricing on gas equipment
In Yakutia, Russia, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has initiated a case against the oil and gas company, AO "Sakhatransneftegaz". The investigation stems from a complaint made by LLC "Prestige" alleging unjustified overpricing of technical services for gas equipment maintenance.
The services in question are not subject to state tariff regulation, and gas distribution companies set their own prices for these services using methodological guidelines. However, the Yakut branch of Russia's FAS has found non-compliance by AO "Sakhatransneftegaz" with certain guideline points for pricing calculation.
The UFAS Commission will evaluate if AO "Sakhatransneftegaz" follows the current pricing order at an upcoming meeting. If found guilty of violating antitrust laws, the company could face penalties, including a fine of up to one million rubles.
The commission will also determine if the overcharge was justified or not. The case is still ongoing, and no specific details about the overpricing amount have been provided.
The potential antitrust violations could have significant implications for AO "Sakhatransneftegaz" and the gas industry in Yakutia. The UFAS Commission's decision regarding the case will be made at its meeting.
