Edible Arts Club at Bronx Science Thrives in Spring 2024

The Edible Arts Club, a unique blend of food preparation and artistry at Bronx Science, is gearing up for an exciting semester. This bi-weekly club, held in Room 331, is presided over by Allison Huang '24, Nahiyan Islam '24, and Ivan Cheng '24.

The club attracts a diverse group of students, each with their own reasons for joining. Olivia Lin '27 looks forward to learning how to cook new foods, while Ivan Cheng '24 embraces potential failures and learning experiences. Rachel Li '24, who re-applied for the 2023-2024 academic year due to her close friends being board members, enjoys the creativity, talent, and warm atmosphere of the club.

For many members, the Edible Arts Club provides a fun and enjoyable environment, serving as a welcome respite from the rigours of school. Kathryn Wu '26, Noelle Delosreyes '27, and Ares Li '27, among others, find joy in cooking and making food alongside friends. Nahiyan Islam '24 joined the club to bring her hobby of cooking into a school environment, while Noelle Delosreyes '27 joined because she enjoys cooking and finds it a nice way to relax.

The club leadership ensures that members remain passionate and motivated. With a new council taking over for the 2023-2024 academic year, there is a strong sense of teamwork and innovative ideas. Members anticipate exploring new techniques and evolving their skills in the kitchen.

Ingredients are provided by the club, with members bringing extra garnishes if they wish. Despite occasional mishaps like the Focaccia bread incident, the club strives to create comforting and delicious foods. The club is run by a senior council who are often busy with college applications, making the club a fun way to relax after rigorous classes.

Members of Edible Arts at Bronx Science belong to the Student Clubs and Organizations associated with the school's extracurricular activities. The club offers the opportunity to learn and experiment with cooking, providing a unique and enjoyable experience for all who participate.

Whether you're a seasoned chef or a novice in the kitchen, the Edible Arts Club welcomes you to join and share in the joy of cooking and artistry.
