The National Heads-Up Poker Championship Returns with a Star-Studded Lineup
The poker world is abuzz with excitement as the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, a symbol of the golden era of televised poker, makes its long-awaited return. The prestigious tournament, which debuted in 2005 and quickly became a fan-favourite, is set to take place at Caesars Palace from March 4 to March 6, 2026.
Mori Eskandani, President of PokerGO, the leading poker content streaming firm, has acquired the tournament property. Eskandani, who is responsible for shows such as Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker, and the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, promises a drama-filled and entertaining event.
The tournament will feature 64 players, including big names like Jason Alexander, Phil Galfond, Chris Moneymaker, Jennifer Harman, Johnny Chan, Daniel Cates, Vanessa Selbst, and many more. The event will also attract a mix of celebrities and top professional poker players, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
Among the confirmed participants are eight-time WSOP bracelet winner Michael Mizrachi, who will defend his WSOP 2025 Main Event champion title; Jason Koon, known as the most dominant force at the Triton Super High Roller Series; and Erik Seidel, a Poker Hall of Famer and former winner of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, who will return to defend his title.
In addition to these heavyweights, the tournament will also see the participation of T.J. Lavin, BMX icon and TV host, bringing action-sports energy to the table. Rob "Boston Rob" Mariano, a Survivor legend, will also be present, known for his strategic gameplay and competitive edge. Nick Wright, a sports broadcaster and poker fan, adds media flair to the line-up, while Liv Boeree, a former EPT champion and poker media personality, rounds off the professional side.
On the amateur side, Bryce Hall, a social media influencer with a passion for poker, adds a fresh face to the mix. Chris Moneymaker, the 2003 WSOP Main Event champion, will also be participating, rekindling memories of his momentous win.
The tournament will have a $25,000 buy-in and will premiere on Peacock later in the year before streaming on PokerGO. Richard Seymour, an NFL Hall of Famer and WSOP deep runner, is part of the tournament, adding to the star-studded lineup.
