Holthausen Shooting and Folk Festival: A Weekend of Entertainment and Tradition

The small town of Holthausen is gearing up for its annual Shooting and Folk Festival, set to begin on Friday, August 30th. The festival, which concludes on Tuesday, September 3rd, promises a weekend filled with traditional German music, parades, and celebrations.

The festivities kick off on the opening night with a traditional big party themed "Schlager meets 90s". Loona and Noel Terhorst, known from "Germany's Got Talent", will take the stage, promising an evening of nostalgic hits and contemporary Schlager music.

On Saturday, August 31st, the day begins with a festival service at St. Joseph at 5 pm, followed by a grand military tattoo performance at Kamper Acker around 6:20 pm. The evening continues with "Just Dance - An evening with Marc Koch". This event will honour deserving marksmen, award the city order, proclaim the new citizen king and queen, and honour jubilarians. Marc Koch's performance is expected around 9 pm.

On Sunday, September 1st, the parade will start at the Long Pond, followed by a march through the pedestrian zone and to the festival tent. The entertainment for the day includes performances by Oliver Bendels, Die Fischgesichter, and "the singing innkeeper" Heinz Huฬˆlshoff, as well as the DJ duo M&J taking over the party in the evening.

Monday, September 2nd, sees the King's Shoot taking place at the shooting range on Cologne Road at 10 am. In the evening, the grand coronation ball takes place as part of the Holthausen Shooting and Folk Festival. The ball will be musically accompanied by the Werner Fendels band and the Tambour Corps & Fanfare Corps Holthausen.
