German squad succumbs to Ingolstadt team with a score of 2-3 in the match
In a nail-biting encounter, the ERC Ingolstadt emerged victorious against the Düsseldorf EG, securing a 2:3 win in their Wednesday game.
The first period belonged to the ERC Ingolstadt, as they stormed ahead with three goals in less than ten minutes. Alex Breton opened the scoring at 1'10, followed by Abbott Girduckis's goal at 8'15, and Wayne Simpson's goal, which came a mere nineteen seconds later. Steven Reinprecht called a timeout, but it was too little, too late as the DEG found themselves facing a 0:3 deficit.
The DEG, however, showed resilience in the middle period, improving their play significantly. Henrik Haukeland, who guarded the net for the DEG, kept them in the game, deflecting shots from Tyler Angle onto the crossbar and denying Justin Richards's close attempts.
The DEG finally managed to break their scoring drought when Jacob Pivonka scored at 33'20, making the score 1:3. Drake Rymsha added another goal with 1'30 left in the game, bringing the score to 2:3.
In a dramatic finale, the DEG pulled the goalie two minutes before the end, and it resulted in a goal, but it was too little, too late for the home team.
The DEG's next game is on Friday against the Adler Mannheim at 7:30 PM. Tickets for this exciting match can be purchased at www.degtickets.de. The DEG's upcoming games also include matches against the Frankfurt Lions (Sunday), Nuremberg Ice Tigers (February 26), and Bremerhaven Fishing Cats (February 28).
Despite the loss, the DEG can take heart in their improved performance in the middle period and look forward to their next game with determination. The ERC Ingolstadt, on the other hand, will be buoyed by their victory and will aim to maintain their form in their upcoming matches.
