Global Perception Shifts: Trump's Credibility Wanes Globally

In the realm of global politics, the administration of US President Donald Trump has been a subject of intense scrutiny and debate. The President's controversial tariff policies and trade measures have been closely monitored by countries such as China, Canada, and Mexico for nearly a decade.

The US-North Korea diplomacy has been a complex issue under Trump's leadership. Despite several attempts, an agreement with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has yet to be reached. Meanwhile, North Korea continues to develop its nuclear arsenal, a development that could surpass that of the United Kingdom in a few years.

The international community has witnessed a significant shift in power dynamics. The Atlantic notes that America has been pushed to the second tier in global power, a position that has been further emphasized by the lack of a consistent foreign policy and a team of highly qualified specialists managing national defense and diplomacy within the current US administration.

The US President's exclusion from a military parade in Beijing has been a symbolic representation of this power shift. Trump reacted to his exclusion by sending "warmest regards" to Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on his social media page.

The damage done to America's prestige by Trump's actions is significant. The President's foreign policy is considered an extension of his personal interests, specifically his desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize. However, authoritarian leaders such as Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un do not view Trump as a competent leader.

Xi Jinping, the Chinese President, has positioned China as the new symbol of international stability and responsibility. In contrast, the current US administration is perceived to have little interest in the world. This was evident when Putin rejected Trump's requests to stop the war in Ukraine during a meeting in Alaska.

The three autocrats in Beijing may not give Trump or the US much thought, given their combined nuclear capabilities. Xi Jinping offered partnership to India after Trump imposed 50 percent tariffs on the country, a move that further underscores the changing global landscape.

As the world continues to evolve, the role of the US under the Trump administration remains a topic of ongoing discussion and analysis. The future of international relations will be shaped by the actions and decisions made by global leaders in the years to come.
