Global Law Firm XYZ Announces 47 Partner and Director Promotions

In a notable move, global law firm XYZ has announced the promotion of 47 lawyers to partner and director positions, effective January 1, 2021. The promotions span 11 practice groups, recognising the exceptional work and dedication of these legal professionals.

The banking and finance practice group sees several promotions, with Mary Kimura in San Francisco, Angela Croker in Dubai, Joris Ravelli in Amsterdam, and Noah Schein in Toronto joining the ranks. Gerry Pecht, Global Chief Executive of XYZ, congratulated the promoted lawyers for their accomplishment.

In the real estate sector, Katie Van Dyk in Austin and Steven Choi in Sydney, Australia, have been promoted, while Adrienne Sebring has been promoted to banking and finance/corporate finance in New York. Katie Chung has been promoted to litigation and disputes in Singapore, and Liza Volpiana has been promoted to real estate in Vancouver.

The litigation and disputes practice group also sees a significant number of promotions, with Michael Manhas in Vancouver, Kate Findlay in Toronto, Kaitlin Long in Calgary, Carol Holness in Durban, Sumera Khan in Houston, and Bryce Perrett in Durban all earning their well-deserved promotions.

The firm also promoted several lawyers to other practice areas, including risk advisory, tax, data protection, privacy and cybersecurity, intellectual property, and projects. Sarah Lucey has been promoted to risk advisory in London, Julia Lloyd to tax in London, Zayed Al Jamil to intellectual property in London, William Nicholson to projects in New York, and Alexandre Roth to banking and finance in Paris.

The firm promoted 25 female lawyers globally, representing 53% of the promotions. Notable among these are Heather Cameron in employment and labor in Ottawa, Kirstin Russell in banking and finance in London, Katie McDougall in litigation and disputes in London, and Alexandra Shields in employment and labor in Sydney, Australia.
