Headline: Bergisch Gladbach's Senior Culture Weeks and Monthly Events Offer Engaging Activities for Seniors
Bergisch Gladbach, Germany - The Senior Council of the city invites residents aged 60 and above to participate in the Culture Weeks taking place from August 30 to September 14, 2025. This exciting event series includes a wide variety of activities aimed at fostering active cultural participation among seniors.
The Culture Weeks will feature diverse events such as theater, hikes, dance, education, workshops, card games (Doppelkopf), creative painting sessions, smartphone courses, and social gatherings like coffee afternoons and game nights. Some of these activities are free or donation-based.
Highlights of the Culture Weeks include an introductory Doppelkopf afternoon at the VHS, wagon rides, bowling afternoons, art exhibitions related to Christian virtues, and technical help sessions. There will also be an open-air photo exhibition, speed dating 60+, and various information events on topics such as "Power of Attorney in Guardianship Law", "How to protect yourself from everyday fraud", and "Needing care - Now what?".
One of the most anticipated events during the Culture Weeks is the "Curious about the wonderful world of honeybees?" offer, organised by the Beekeeping Association e.V. Visitors can learn interesting facts about beekeeping during this event, which takes place at the Bergisches Museum for Mining, Crafts, and Trade on 31 August 2025 from 2 to 4 PM.
In addition to the Culture Weeks, Bergisch Gladbach offers regular monthly events for seniors. The Senior Stammtisch, a monthly gathering providing an opportunity to inform, engage in conversation, and actively participate, takes place at Gasthaus am Bock on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, at 11:30 AM. The topic of the Senior Stammtisch is open exchange with members of the Senior Council.
Another monthly event is the Dance Café, a Sunday highlight in Bergisch Gladbach. The Dance Café offers dancing, socializing, drinks, and delicious cake. The next Dance Café will take place at Gasthaus Paas on Sunday, 7 and 21 September 2025, from 3 to 5 PM.
Both Gasthaus am Bock and Gasthaus Paas are barrier-free and located near the "Market" bus stop, making them easily accessible for all. Admission to both the Senior Stammtisch and the Dance Café is free, and no registration is required.
