Government of the United Kingdom extends financial incentive for electric-powered vans and trucks up to the year 2027.
The UK Department for Transport (DfT) has announced that it will extend the Plug-in Van and Truck Grant, providing certainty for fleet operators to plan their electric vehicle purchases. This decisive step towards powering Britain's transition to cleaner transport was stated by Lilian Greenwood, the Future of Roads minister.
The grant offers discounts for drivers switching to electric vehicles, with up to Β£5,000 available for small vans, Β£16,000 for small trucks, Β£2,500 for large vans, and Β£25,000 for large trucks. The plug-in van and truck grant will last until at least 2027, offering a significant boost to businesses looking to make the switch to electric vehicles.
In addition to the extended grant scheme, the UK government has also announced the fourth annual CiTTi Awards. These awards, which recognise and celebrate achievements and innovations in the field of EV charging infrastructure, will take place on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
The CiTTi Awards are an unmissable event for the UK's transportation sector, providing a platform to showcase the latest advancements in EV charging technology. For more information about the awards, visit www.cittiawards.co.uk.
Every electric vehicle on the roads contributes to healthier communities and creates new economic opportunities across the country. Grants for electric vehicles are seen as a means to back industries that keep the economy moving, driving new investment in EVs and helping businesses cut costs and expand.
While the grant levels for the 2026 to 2027 financial year have not been confirmed yet, the extension of the Plug-in Van and Truck Grant is a positive step towards a cleaner and more sustainable transportation future for the UK.
