In the captivating sequel to the indie game Hollow Knight, titled Silksong, developed by the Australian independent developer Team Cherry, players embark on a new journey in the kingdom of Hallownest.
One of the first encounters in Silksong is with the Bell Beast, the game's first boss. Defeating this formidable foe earns players an achievement and a unique reward - a silk heart. This item regenerates a small amount of silk automatically after every use, making it an invaluable asset in the game. Interestingly, the Bell Beast also becomes a mode of fast travel once defeated.
The Bell Beast isn't just a formidable opponent; it's also the gateway to the game's first boss fight. Shortly after collecting the Silk Spear skill, players will find themselves face to face with the Bell Beast. This creature has three main attacks, and when its health is halved, bells start dropping from the ceiling during the fight.
Healing in Silksong is a straightforward process. Players can tap the bind button (B on an Xbox controller) once to regain three pips of life. What's more, healing is possible even while in the air, adding an extra layer of strategy to the gameplay.
After conquering the Bell Beast, players can take on additional side quests from a sign in Bone Bottom. One such quest involves the Moss Druid, who is found in the bottom right corner of the room after obtaining the Silk Spear technique. The Moss Druid tasks players with finding three moss berries. One of these can be found below the Druid by dropping down the hole left of the bench and past a hidden wall in the bottom right corner of the room.
Silksong features four types of equipment: white for spells, red for tools, blue for amulets, and yellow for additional items. Players can only equip one of each type at a time, adding a layer of strategy to the game.
As players delve deeper into the enchanting world of Silksong, they will encounter various challenges and puzzles. One such puzzle involves finding the Choral Commandment. To find it, players must climb upwards from Shakra's position, to the left, up again past the lever, and break a wall to the left.
