Several cyclonic circulations are driving widespread rain and thunderstorms over South India, especially in North Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema.

Northeast India, specifically Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of localized flooding. Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are expected to experience intense rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning over the next three days.

Inland regions such as Madhya Pradesh will experience gusty winds and rain on May 22nd and 23rd. Uttarakhand will experience heavy rain on May 23rd and 24th. In Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram, heavy rainfall is expected throughout the week.

Heavy rain is expected in South Interior Karnataka on May 25th and 26th. The IMD has stated that conditions are turning favourable for the onset of the southwest monsoon over Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, and the South & Central Bay of Bengal.

Given the unpredictable nature of weather, it's crucial to stay updated with the latest forecasts and warnings. In Kerala, the state government promotes private weather forecasting agencies such as Skymet Weather and others for supporting weather forecasts and warnings related to extreme weather events.
