The ongoing monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh continues to wreak havoc, causing numerous disruptions across the state. As of Saturday evening, a total of 312 roads, including National Highway-305, are blocked, with Kullu district reporting the highest number of road blockages at 101 routes closed.

The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has reported a cumulative death toll since June 20 of 298, with 152 deaths caused by rain-related incidents such as landslides, flash floods, and house collapses. Tragically, 146 of these deaths were due to road accidents.

The disruptions aren't limited to roads. A total of 51 water supply schemes have been affected, with Mandi facing 36 disruptions and Kangra reporting 8. Lahaul and Spiti reported 2 water supply scheme disruptions, while no disruptions were reported in Kullu.

Power supply disruptions are also prevalent, with 97 electricity transformers having been damaged. Authorities have warned of continued risks from landslides and flash floods in Himachal Pradesh. The SDMA has reiterated its appeal to the public to avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas.

In a bid to manage the situation, the Himachal Pradesh Government is grappling with these monsoon-related disruptions. The Governor of Himachal Pradesh is Shiv Pratap Shukla, though the exact date of his assumption of office is not specified in the available search results.

The India Meteorological Department has maintained a heavy rain alert for the next 72 hours in Himachal Pradesh, indicating that the state may continue to face challenges in the coming days. It is crucial for the state and its residents to remain vigilant and prepared during this challenging period.
