Helldivers 2 patch is released earlier than expected to placate frustrated gamers, however, it appears to fail in resolving the main issues introduced by the Into the Unjust update.

In the world of gaming, Helldivers 2 has made a significant impact, particularly on the Xbox platform. The strategic shooter has sold nearly a million copies in less than a week, outperforming its launch on the PS5.

The buzz surrounding Helldivers 2 has been prevalent on platforms like the game's Discord server and Reddit, where discussions about the game's latest update have been at the forefront. This update, titled "Into the Unjust," was released ahead of schedule and addresses a range of issues.

One of the most notable fixes in the update is the resolution of the issue affecting the Pelican-1 pilot, who was previously known for his wonky landings. Additionally, crash fixes for cave and bug missions have been implemented, improving the overall gameplay experience.

However, not all issues have been addressed. Some players have reported unresolved problems, such as extreme performance issues on PC. These problems include severe framerate drops, lag, game freezing shortly after launch, crashing when loading missions, glitching audio during breaches, and a massive file size exceeding 140GB due to duplicated assets. Arrowhead developers have acknowledged these problems and have prioritised addressing the file size issue, although timelines for fixes have not been provided.

Last week, an Arrowhead player support agent confirmed in the Discord server that the team is looking into the issue of full system freezes on PC. This issue is currently the biggest thread in the Steam Support forum, reflecting the concern of the gaming community.

The update also addresses some quirks in the game's environment. For instance, mission objectives can now drop on cave roofs, which were previously inaccessible. Additionally, the wonky lighting in some caves has been fixed, and there are reports of areas with an open roof in bug-ridden tunnels that allow calling stratagems underground, although this seems to be inconsistent.

In a public statement, Arrowhead Game Studios' CEO addressed the update, acknowledging the issues and expressing gratitude for the community's support and patience. The statement also reiterated the team's commitment to continuously improving the game and addressing the concerns of the players.

Despite the ongoing issues on PC, Helldivers 2's launch on Xbox has been a resounding success. The game's engaging gameplay, combined with the recent update, has made it a popular choice among gamers, and the developers are working diligently to address the remaining issues on other platforms.
