Hidden Shocking Device Seized by Federal Police in BPOL NRW: A Pocket Lamp was Identified as a Concealed Electroshocker

On August 21st, an 18-year-old German national was checked by federal police officers at Bochum Central Station. During the search of the young man's bag, conducted by deployment forces, an illegal object was discovered.

The discovery was made around 5:40 PM, and the officers found an object that resembled a flashlight. However, further investigation revealed that it was actually an electroshock weapon, disguised as a flashlight. The young man initially denied having any prohibited or dangerous objects, but later hesitated before stating that he only had a flashlight belonging to his uncle.

The electroshock weapon could be used as both a flashlight and an electroshock weapon by switching a regulator. This discovery marks a violation of the Weapons Act, and the 18-year-old will now have to answer for his actions.

The federal police officers confiscated the electroshock weapon from the German national. This incident occurred in Bochum, a city known for its close cooperation between the Bundespolizeidirektorat Sankt Augustin and the Bundespolizeiinspektorat Dortmund. The Federal Police headquarters is located at Untere Brinkstraße 81-89, 44141 Dortmund.

The young man chose to exercise his right to remain silent and did not make any statements. The Federal Police in North Rhine-Westphalia can be followed on Twitter at @BPOL NRW. Emails can be sent to [email protected] for further updates on this incident.

After the measures were completed, the 18-year-old was allowed to continue on his way. The joint handling of incidents and operations between the Bundespolizeidirektorat Sankt Augustin and the Bundespolizeiinspektorat Dortmund was evident in this case, as shown by the involvement of Bundespolizeidirektion Sankt Augustin officers in incidents in Dortmund and reporting by their press office on events at Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. This cooperation reflects the coordinated operational efforts between these agencies.
