The Kerala High Court has taken a significant step towards the preservation of the Moolavigraham, the main idol, of the renowned Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala, India.

In response to pleas concerning defects noticed in the Moolavigraham, the court has appointed a committee to submit a report on its condition. The committee, composed of experts in archaeology, sculpture, and temple management, has been tasked with examining the defects and providing recommendations for the preservation and maintenance of the idol.

The committee, expected to submit its report within a specified timeframe, consists of Justices Devan Ramachandran and MB Snehalatha. The judge leading the investigation into the condition of the Moolavigraham and presiding over related court hearings concerning temple management and preservation is Justice V. Anil.

The cases, collectively referred to as R Rajasekharan Pillai v State of Kerala & ors and connected case, were brought before the Kerala High Court, a court of record in the Indian state of Kerala. The court has requested reports on the condition of the Moolavigraham, and the committee's report will be considered by the court while dealing with these pleas.

Upon submission of the committee's report, the court will review the findings and recommendations, aiming to ensure the safety and integrity of the Moolavigraham of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. The temple, a significant cultural and spiritual landmark, is located in Kerala, India.
