Acer Unveils High-End Predator Helios 18P and Updated Nitro Lines

Acer has made some exciting announcements in the gaming laptop market, introducing the premium Predator Helios 18P and updating its budget and mid-range Acer Nitro line with the Nitro V 16 and Nitro V 16S.

The Acer Predator Helios 18P, priced at €4,499 in the EU, is set to make its way to the United States, although a price and release date have yet to be confirmed. This powerhouse laptop boasts an 18-inch, Mini-LED display with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It also features ECC RAM to prevent data corruption, ensuring smooth and reliable performance.

The Predator Helios 18P is equipped with two Thunderbolt 5 ports over USB Type-C, an SD card reader, and up to 6TB of PCIe Gen 5 SSD storage. For those needing high-end processing power, options for Intel vPro processors are available.

In terms of connectivity, the Predator Helios 18P offers three USB Type-A ports, providing ample options for peripherals.

Moving on to the updated Nitro line, the Nitro V 16 and Nitro V 16S feature 16-inch displays. The GPUs of these laptops can be boosted up to an RTX 5070, making them capable gaming machines. They are similar to systems launched earlier this year, but they have Intel processor options up to an Intel Core 9 270H.

The Nitro V 16 will start at $999.99 in October, while the Nitro V 16S will launch in November, starting at $1,099.99. Display options for the Nitro V 16 include 1920 x 1200 and 2560 x 1600, both at 180 Hz.

The Nitro V 16S offers a slightly enhanced experience, but both models are designed to provide a solid gaming and creative workflow experience at budget-friendly prices.

In the European market, the Acer Predator Helios 18P AI will be available, with listings by online retailers around the IFA 2025 event. Its price range is expected to be in the premium segment, likely from about 3,000 to 4,000 euros depending on the model and specifications.

These new offerings from Acer cater to a wide range of consumers, from budget-conscious gamers to high-end professionals seeking top-tier performance. With their impressive specifications and competitive prices, these laptops are sure to attract attention in the rapidly evolving gaming and creative workstation markets.
