Despite the higher price tag, the Leaf still lands as one of the most affordable electric vehicles "at transaction price" in Canada. The Leaf's cost undercuts several direct competitors in Canada, including the Chevy Equinox EV, Kia Niro EV, and Hyundai Kona Electric.

It's important to note that the starting price for the 2026 Nissan Leaf in the US market is actually lower than the original Leaf from the 2011 model year, without accounting for inflation. Nissan has not yet shared the price for the base Leaf S in Canada.
