In an unfortunate turn of events, a case of domestic violence was reported in Hainstraße, Gera, on Friday evening. The Thuringian Police confirmed the incident, stating that a 22-year-old woman was the victim of a brutal attack by her cohabiting ex-boyfriend.

The perpetrator, who has not been publicly named, beat the victim and subsequently locked her in the apartment. Thankfully, the victim managed to escape from the apartment on Saturday afternoon.

An extensive search was initiated for the fleeing suspect, and the Thuringian Police are grateful for the public's assistance in providing information that led to the suspect's apprehension near the Gera Arcades. The suspect was taken into custody, and the investigation is now being handled by the Criminal Police.
