Home Revival for Monza's House Parties
Ferrari Celebrates a Historic Anniversary at the 2025 Italian Grand Prix
Prepare for a thrilling race weekend at the iconic Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, as Ferrari celebrates the 50th anniversary of Niki Lauda's first Formula 1 title. The Italian Grand Prix, set to take place on the 20th of September, promises to be a grand spectacle, filled with nostalgia and high-speed action.
In 1975, Ferrari clinched a historic double victory, securing both the driver's and constructor's titles. Niki Lauda, a legendary figure in Formula 1 history, secured his first world championship at Monza, while his teammate Clay Regazzoni went on to win the race. This year, the spotlight is once again on Monza, with drivers like McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen vying for the top spot.
Leclerc, who won for Ferrari in Monza in 2019, will be aiming to repeat his success. However, Lewis Hamilton, a strong contender, will start five places behind due to a penalty for ignoring yellow flags in Zandvoort.
Ferrari has pulled out all the stops for this special occasion. The SF-25, their latest Formula 1 car, boasts a special livery inspired by the 1975 Ferrari 312T. The SF-25's livery includes two white longitudinal stripes, black start numbers, a white engine cover, a metallic silver rear wing, and wheels reminiscent of those from 1975. A special PVC film developed with main sponsor HP is used on the SF-25, making it lighter and more temperature-resistant than previous versions.
To add to the nostalgia, an original 312T from the anniversary season 1975 and an SF-25 with special livery are on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. Visitors can also watch the Sunday race live at the museum.
Ferrari employees will be dressed in retro-style outfits, and even the drivers will be seen in race suits, helmet designs, and shoes in the style of the 1975 era, created in cooperation with PUMA.
In a nod to the past, Jean Alesi, a former Ferrari driver from 1991 to 1995, will drive the Ferrari 412T2 from 1995 before the 2025 Italian Grand Prix. The Ferrari 412T2 is the last Formula 1 car from Ferrari with a V12 engine.
To commemorate the event, a pop-in store will open in Milan, featuring product presentations and a fan action called "Drive to Monza" in cooperation with beer sponsor Peroni.
As the race weekend approaches, the excitement is palpable. With a blend of history, innovation, and high-speed action, the 2025 Italian Grand Prix at Monza promises to be an unforgettable event.
