Hotel in Trondheim targeted by masked assailants
In the early hours of Thursday, residents along the Rhine river were disturbed by an unexpected and unwelcome display of fireworks. The incident, which occurred at the Hilton hotel along the Rhine, has left authorities puzzled as the perpetrators remain unidentified.
At approximately 3 am, guests at the Hilton hotel were awakened by the loud explosions of fireworks. Hotel staff observed several masked individuals, dressed in black and wearing red scarves over their faces, setting off fireworks. By the time the Mainz police arrived, the masked individuals had already fled the scene.
The Mainz police are currently investigating the incident, suspecting a violation of explosives laws. They are in contact with UEFA officials and representatives of the two affected clubs. The police found only empty firework casings at the scene, providing little clue as to the identity of the individuals responsible.
The fireworks disrupted not only the guests at the Hilton hotel but also residents on both sides of the Rhine river. The loud noise and bright lights caused disturbance and concern among the local community. The masked individuals, despite their attempts to remain anonymous, were successful in causing a stir in the peaceful city of Mainz.
As of now, the motive behind the fireworks display remains unclear. The Mainz police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. The public is reminded to respect local laws and regulations, especially those concerning the use of explosives, for the safety and peace of the community.
