House located amidst a blazing village, specifically a single-family dwelling engulfed in flames.
In the heart of the Leibnitz district, a single-family house in Wildon, Styria, was tragically engulfed by a fire on Thursday afternoon. The blaze started in a garden hut and quickly spread to the adjacent, uninhabited property due to strong winds.
The fire department was promptly on the scene, with eight volunteer fire departments, a total of 16 vehicles, and 95 personnel working tirelessly to extinguish the flames. The L371 and the garden path in Wildon were closed to all traffic for approximately four hours during the firefighting operations.
The cause of the fire in the garden hut remains unknown at this time. However, arson cannot be ruled out, as the investigation is still ongoing. The fire department has not yet released a statement confirming or denying arson as the cause of the fire.
In such cases, the responsible fire investigator for a fire in an individual household is typically the criminal police specializing in fire investigations. This is similar to the ongoing investigation by the Schweinfurt Criminal Police into the cause of a single-family house fire in Sennfeld.
The single-family house in Wildon was uninhabited at the time of the fire. Following the incident, a ban on entering the property has been placed by the district fire investigator and the responsible employees of the market town. The house remains closed to the public.
The fire department's efforts managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading further. While the exact cause of the fire may still be under investigation, the community of Wildon can take comfort in the quick response and dedication of the fire department and volunteer teams.
