Household energy consulting services available in professional and religious neighborhoods, offering free energy advice
The city of Gießen is gearing up for the third consecutive year of its "On-site Energy Supply" campaign, a drive to increase energy renovation and improve the community's living and climate conditions. Mayor Alexander Wright emphasises the campaign's importance, stating that it aims to boost the energy renovation quota and enhance the quality of living and climate protection in the city.
The campaign, running from September 10 to November 19, 2025, is open to homeowners of single and two-family homes in the Evangelical Settlement, Professor's Quarter, and two adjacent areas. Interested property owners can now register online, by email, or by phone to schedule a consultation appointment.
The opening event of the campaign will take place on September 10 at 6:00 PM at the Technical University of Middle Hesse. The event will include a welcome by Mayor Wright, a presentation of the campaign, and information about connecting to district heating and the use of heat pumps in the area. Qualified energy consultants will be available after the presentation to answer individual questions.
During the campaign, homeowners can receive a free, individual energy consultation directly at their homes. The on-site consultations focus on efficient heat protection, modern heating technology, and the optimal use of renewable energies. Participating homeowners receive initial individual recommendations and practical tips for the next steps.
Information booths from Stadtwerke Gießen, Sparkasse Gießen, and Volksbank Middle Hesse will provide further information on energy renovation, funding, and financing options at the opening event. This collaboration aims to offer specific assistance, especially in areas with high energy-saving potential.
