In a series of significant military operations, Israel has targeted both the Houthi militia in Yemen and Hamas in Gaza.

Last Thursday, Israel's military reportedly targeted a facility in Sanaa, Yemen, where dozens of leading figures of the Houthi regime were present. The Israeli military allegedly announced that the target of the airstrikes was a gathering of leading figures of the "terrorist Houthi regime." The attack resulted in the death of the Houthi Minister-President, Abdel-Malek Al-Rahaui, who was considered a symbolic blow to the Houthi militia. However, it's important to note that Al-Rahaui had little actual authority.

The Houthi government in Sanaa is not internationally recognized, and the militia has controlled the north of Yemen for about a decade. Officially known as "Ansar Allah," the Houthi militia is considered the strongest force in Yemen. The Houthis have repeatedly targeted Israel with rockets and drones during the Gaza war, claiming to show solidarity with the Islamic Hamas in Gaza.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Israel's military has now reportedly targeted a high-ranking Hamas official. The initial report did not specify who the target was, but Israeli media outlets reported that the target was the long-serving spokesman of the military wing of Hamas, the Qassam Brigades, known by his nom de guerre Abu Obeida.

The Gaza war has sparked protests in Israel, with thousands of people demonstrating in Tel Aviv, demanding a swift end to the conflict and the release of hostages from Hamas' grip. The Hostages' Forum called for another protest, criticizing the Netanyahu government for prioritizing an endless war over the hostages.

Israel's foreign intelligence agency, Mossad, has been linked to several major attacks this year. Mossad agents were reportedly involved in Israel's attack on Iran, in which leading military figures and nuclear scientists were killed and nuclear facilities destroyed. In 2024, Mossad caused thousands of operatives of the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia in Lebanon to be killed and injured by manipulating their pagers and handheld devices.

As the situation continues to unfold, the Israeli security cabinet is set to convene again under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, a proposal for a ceasefire with Hamas will not be on the agenda. The events in Yemen and Gaza are shaping up to be significant developments in the ongoing conflicts in these regions.
