18th Ibero-American Cultural Autumn Kicks Off in Huelva

The 18th edition of the Ibero-American Cultural Autumn (OCIb 2025) commenced on September 4, marking the start of a three-and-a-half-month-long celebration of art and culture. This year's event will feature over 50 activities spanning various artistic disciplines and will take place in various spaces across the province.

The presentation of the OCIb 2025 program was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Nacho Molina (Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Huelva), Gracia Baquero (provincial deputy for Culture), Teresa Herrera (delegate for Culture of the Junta in Huelva), María José Rico (sub-delegate of the Government in Huelva), Emilio Ponce (director of the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur), Alberto Santana (president of the Port of Huelva), María de la O Barroso (director of the Santa María de La Rábida Seat of the UNIA), and Joaquina Castillo (vice-rector for Culture of the University of Huelva).

Emilio Ponce, in his welcome address, expressed his delight at the gathering and emphasised the importance of the event. He highlighted that the OCIb 2025 event will showcase a diverse range of artistic activities, making it one of the most significant programs related to Ibero-America at the moment.

The edition of OCIb 2025 is especially dedicated to Argentina. The OCIb Ibero-American Cooperation Prize will be awarded to three Argentine poets in mid-October. The event will culminate with a tree planting and poetry recital in Marismas del Odiel.

The Ibero-American Cultural Association now organises the OCIb 2025 event, but the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur continues to provide support. The representatives of the attending institutions reiterated their "commitment and support" to the Ibero-American Cultural Autumn.

The OCIb 2025 program was presented at the José Luis García Palacios Cultural Center. The event is expected to attract a large number of visitors, offering them a unique opportunity to experience and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Ibero-America.
