Hyundai broadens the scope of its Knight Edition lineup, introducing electricity-fueled Creta, i20, and Alcazar models.
Hyundai Expands Knight Range with ICE and EV Offerings
Hyundai Motor India is making waves in the Indian automotive market with the expansion of its Knight range, which is positioned as lifestyle upgrades. This strategy blends design, innovation, and emotional appeal, setting Hyundai apart in the competitive SUV and hatchback market.
The Knight range now includes both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) offerings. The price for the i20 Knight model ranges from ₹9.14 lakh to ₹11.34 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India), while the i20 N Line model is priced between ₹11.42 lakh and ₹12.52 lakh.
In the EV segment, the Creta Electric Knight is offered in Excellence variants with a 51.4 kWh long-range battery (510 km ARAI-certified range) and a 42 kWh pack (420 km range). The Creta Electric Knight is priced from ₹21.44 lakh to ₹24.54 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India). The Alcazar Knight, on the other hand, is available with both 1.5L Turbo GDi petrol (7-speed DCT) and 1.5L diesel (6-speed automatic) options, priced from ₹21.50 lakh to ₹21.65 lakh for the Knight model (Ex-Showroom, India).
The Alcazar now includes a dashcam in the Signature trim, enhancing safety-focused tech for more customers. Both the Creta Electric Knight and Alcazar Knight will be available in a new Matte Black exterior colour. Inside, the new Knight Edition variants feature Hyundai's signature all-black theme with brass accents, dark upholstery with brass stitching, sporty pedals, and a refined premium finish.
The Knight Edition series, introduced in 2022, has been successful, selling over 77,000 units. The series now includes six models: Creta, Venue, Exter, Creta Electric, i20, and Alcazar. The i20 Knight is powered by a 1.2L Kappa petrol engine and is available in Sportz (O) MT and Asta (O) IVT trims.
Special editions, such as the Knight range, have been successful for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), prompting Hyundai to continue this strategy. However, the position held previously by Tarun Garg as Whole-Time Director and COO of Hyundai Motor India was not specified in the article.
Looking ahead, Hyundai's Knight range promises to continue setting trends in the Indian automotive market, with its blend of design, innovation, and emotional appeal. As we look towards Upcoming Cars in India 2025 and the Best SUVs in India, Hyundai's Knight range is certain to be a key player.
