The Hyundai Veloster is set to make a comeback, with its production-ready debut scheduled at the Detroit Motor Show. This three-door coupe, first revealed in 2011, is the replacement for the Hyundai Coupe and will be available in markets outside the UK.

Hyundai Motor Company has been busy teasing the new Veloster, offering glimpses of the car's sleek design. The new model features slightly redesigned nose and tail, promising an updated look while staying true to the Veloster's unique style.

Two petrol engines will be available at launch. The 1.6 litre engine will offer 161bhp and can be paired with either a manual or auto gearbox. For those seeking more power, the 2.0 litre engine produces 201bhp and can be paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT.

Interestingly, the Veloster N, which is expected to be a hotter version of the Veloster with a 2.0-liter engine producing 271 hp, is not expected to be available in the UK. This model will be mainly available in South Korea, the United States, and select markets worldwide.

A Veloster N with a 2.0 litre engine similar to the i30 N is expected to be released later. The i30 N has been well-received, so it will be interesting to see how the Veloster N compares.

Model and price details for the Hyundai Veloster were released a couple of months prior to the photos and video of the new Veloster Coupe that Hyundai UK has been taking for promotion. The new Veloster is due in showrooms in 2012.

The Veloster stopped being available in the UK a couple of years ago due to its odd styling not appealing to Hyundai's demographic. However, with its return, it could make a great little hot coupe for those who appreciate its unique design and performance capabilities.

The Veloster was teased a week before its official reveal at the Detroit Motor Show, generating excitement among car enthusiasts. With its return, the Hyundai Veloster is set to make a mark in the automotive world once again.
