The New York Thruway rest stops saw significant sales in 2018, with the top performers generating millions of dollars. Here's a breakdown of the highest-grossing rest stops that year.
Sloatsburg took the third spot, with sales of $8,573,624. Not far behind was Sloatsburg's neighbour, Plattekill, which ranked fourth with sales of $7,076,143. The fifth highest sales were recorded at Modena, with $5,717,376.
The sixth and seventh spots were filled by Pattersonville and Malden, with sales of $5,479,181 and $5,251,867 respectively. Seneca and Scottsville followed closely, with sales of $2,622,872 and $3,033,917.
The ninth and twelfth positions were claimed by Ramapo and Warners, with sales of $4,941,770 and $4,512,834. The fourteenth position was held by Iroquois, with sales of $3,679,743, and the fifteenth spot by Port Byron, with sales of $3,575,718.

The New York Thruway is about to award a three-decade contract to a vendor for the rebuilding and operation of its 27 service areas. The service areas currently bring in $118 million in food and other sales per year, not including fuel sales.
