On September 15, 2023, a 31-year-old Polish driver was arrested by the Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf on suspicion of smuggling six foreigners into Germany. The arrest was made following a court order issued in response to the investigation's progress and the evidence gathered.

The incident unfolded when a vigilant citizen reported seeing several people exiting a black Polish SUV and running towards Kodersdorf station on Friday at around 3:10 PM. The caller provided fragments of the license plate, which led to the identification and subsequent stopping of the vehicle at the Görlitz exit.

Initial investigations suggest that the 36-year-old smuggled the six people in his Mercedes-Benz. Four were found in the back seat, while two were in the trunk. The front passenger seat was empty during the smuggling event. The suspect was supposed to receive 1,000 euros for this trip.

The vehicle contained several pieces of clothing and opened water bottles, suggesting that several people had been in the vehicle previously. Seven men, three women, and five children from Turkey were stopped by Federal Police officers in the vicinity.

The investigating judge at Görlitz District Court ordered the detention of the trafficker, following the public prosecutor's office in Görlitz. The detention order was issued in relation to the ongoing investigation of the smuggling incident.

It was later revealed that the suspect arrested by the judge is Finley Pügner, the leader of the far-right extremist group "Elblandrevolte," active mainly in Dresden and East Saxony. Pügner has a history of police involvement, having been known for two attacks on pedestrians in Görlitz in 2023 and being involved in violent attacks with other group members, leading to multiple periods of detention due to risks of concealment and repeated offenses.
