Imagine speculating on the current rosters for this year's Ryder Cup teams?
The Ryder Cup 2025 is quickly approaching, and both Team USA and Team Europe are in the process of finalising their rosters for the highly-anticipated event at Bethpage Black.
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy have secured their spots on their respective teams, with Scheffler clinching a four-stroke victory at The 153rd Open Championship. McIlroy, on the other hand, has been a consistent performer throughout the season.
Team Europe is expected to be bolstered by the Hojgaard twins, Rasmus and Nicolai, who have established themselves as mainstays of the European team for the coming years. Rasmus, despite not playing in Rome, has been part of the European team throughout the week and knows what being part of a Ryder Cup is like. Currently, he leads the race for the last spot on Team Europe over his brother, Nicolai, as well as Hall, Wallace, and Rai.
Keegan Bradley's inclusion on Team USA is a subject of debate due to his recent form. However, his excellent record in the Ryder Cup and consistent performances in the past make him a strong contender. Patrick Cantlay, despite a decline in form, is also considered a potential member of Team USA, thanks to his outstanding Ryder Cup record.
Patrick Harman, who performed well in Rome and claimed the Valero Texas Open in 2025, has been mentioned as a potential member of Team USA. His strong performance in the recent tournaments has caught the attention of the selectors.
Team USA is also expected to include Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, JJ Spaun, and Russell Henley, who are considered locks for the team. Spaun and Henley, who are expected to finish inside the top six in the rankings, have never played in a Ryder Cup before, adding a fresh dynamic to the team.
Wyndham Clark has recently re-found form with strong results in the Genesis Scottish Open and Open Championship. His consistent performances could earn him a spot in the team, adding more depth to Team USA.
Meanwhile, Kristoffer Reitan, although inexperienced in America, is a potential wildcard for Team Europe. The young Norwegian, who looks like a promising player, could provide a surprising boost to Team Europe.
Brooks Koepka does not make the Team USA for the Ryder Cup based on current form. Instead, the team is likely to rely on the wildcard picks, which include Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Harris English, and Sam Burns. Chris Gotterup, who impressed the analyst over the last fortnight, is also a potential wildcard pick for Team USA.
Keegan Bradley will captain Team USA, while Luke Donald will lead Team Europe. Bradley, despite being eligible, chose not to select himself for the team, nominating Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay, and Sam Burns for the US Ryder Cup team in September 2025.
As the Ryder Cup 2025 draws closer, the anticipation builds, with both teams shaping up to deliver an unforgettable showdown at Bethpage Black.
