The Bavarian Interior Minister, Joachim Herrmann, welcomed 90 new police officers to the Bavarian Police Headquarters Mittelfranken in March 2025. This marked the beginning of a significant personnel increase for the Mittelfranken region.
These new officers are part of the larger plan, 'The Bavarian Police 2025', which aims to reinforce police stations across the region and strengthen the police presence on the ground. The Mittelfranken police will see an increase of 73 new officers this spring, bringing the total number of new police officers distributed among the individual stations to 646 since 2017.
The ANKER locations, including Schweinfurt, Bamberg, Regensburg, Ingolstadt, and Fürstenfelderbruck, will see an increase in police presence. Four additional officers have been allocated to these locations, while further reinforcements for other ANKER locations are expected to start from September 1st.
The new police officers will contribute to the security of the Mittelfranken region and the whole of Bavaria. The personnel increase is not limited to Mittelfranken, as the Bavarian Border Police will also receive 35 new officers.
It's important to note that the exact allocation shares for this spring are not provided. Additionally, there is no publicly available information on the number of personnel transfers to the Bavarian Police Directorate Mittelfranken in spring 2025 from other Bavarian police directorates, the Federal Police, and Baden-Württemberg.
The distribution of new personnel among the police districts is done independently, with each district receiving reinforcements based on its specific needs and challenges. The new officers will play a crucial role in addressing on-site challenges effectively, ensuring the safety and security of the region.
This personnel increase is a significant step towards ensuring a robust police presence in the Mittelfranken region and the whole of Bavaria, contributing to a safer and more secure future for its residents.
