In a competitive clash, Senegal and Sudan vie for the leading position

The stage is set for an exciting clash in the Africa Cup as Sudan and Senegal face off on Tuesday at Amaan International Stadium in Zanzibar. Both teams currently hold four points, with Sudan having a superior goals aggregate.

The match between Sudan and Senegal will decide the top spot in Group D. Sudan has shown impressive form, having defeated Nigeria 4-0 and drawing with Congo Brazzaville 1-1, while Senegal won against Nigeria and drew with Congo Brazzaville.

If the Sudan vs Senegal match ends in a draw with less than two goals, Congo Brazzaville could qualify for the last eight if they beat Nigeria 3-0. This is due to their superior goals difference.

Abdelrazig Taha Yagoub Omer, the Sudanese striker, has been in fine form, being named Man-of-the-Match twice in their matches against Nigeria and Congo Brazzavaville. On the Senegalese side, Issa Boye, a substitute striker, will lead the team in their last Pool D match, replacing Yaya Al Mbaye who is out due to injuries.

Two key strikers from Senegal suffered injuries in their last match against Congo Brazzaville, but their names have not been disclosed. Despite these setbacks, Senegalese head coach Soulemane Diallo is confident about their chances in the match against Sudan, stating that he is aware of Sudan's capabilities, especially after their 4-0 victory over Nigeria.

Diallo aims to win and score goals against Sudan and is not just focusing on defense. He is aware that the results of the Sudan vs Senegal match will determine their stay in the continental showpiece.

Meanwhile, Congo Brazzaville is keen to beat already eliminated Nigeria because they still have a mathematical chance of making it into the quarter-finals. They will play Nigeria tonight at Benjamin Mkapa International Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.

This match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams eager to secure the top spot in Group D and advance to the quarter-finals. Stay tuned for updates from the Amaan International Stadium in Zanzibar.
