In a recent law enforcement operation, an individual was apprehended in Esslingen for allegedly attempting a break-in.
In a recent development, a 28-year-old suspect has been taken into custody following an attempted burglary incident in Mülbergerstraße, Esslingen. The news was announced by the Police Headquarters Reutlingen.
The incident unfolded on Monday evening, around 10:50 PM, when a witness alerted the police after noticing two unknown men, partly masked, apparently casing a residential building in Mülbergerstraße. Upon arrival, the first patrol car on the scene discovered a man who hid in bushes and then fled from the officers. After refusing to stop and being warned with pepper spray, the fleeing suspect fell and was temporarily arrested by the officers.
The suspect, who is a Kosovo citizen, was later examined by an ambulance service due to minor eye irritation and subsequently taken to a detention facility. During his search, several screwdrivers, a flashlight, and the suspect's mask were found.
The Public Prosecutor's Office Stuttgart and a specialized investigation group of the Esslingen Criminal Police Directorate based in Tübingen have been investigating the 28-year-old man since Monday evening, August 25, 2025, on suspicion of attempted burglary.
An inspection of the building in Mülbergerstraße revealed signs of forced entry on a cellar door and overturned furniture on an externally accessible balcony. However, a subsequent search was unsuccessful in locating the accomplice. The possible associate of the 28-year-old man related to the attempted break-in is currently unknown and still under investigation; no specific person has been identified or named in the available police reports. The investigation is ongoing by the criminal police.
The arrested suspect was presented to the magistrate at Esslingen District Court on Tuesday afternoon. For further inquiries, you can contact Ramona Döttling at Police Headquarters Reutlingen, Telephone 07121/942-1103, Email: [email protected]. The website for more information is www.polizei-bw.de.
