In a statement, the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) allegedly ridiculed former Governor Peter Obi, accusing him of being devoid of a clear direction.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has weighed in on the recent political moves made by former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi. In a statement made by its Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, on Thursday, the APC described Obi's recent alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a "stillborn coalition."

Oladejo further criticized Obi's actions, suggesting that they portray him as a politician driven by ambition rather than ideology. The APC spokesman questioned Obi's current political status, implying that he may be ideologically orphaned or politically stranded due to his failure to consolidate his movement.

The APC's statement comes in response to Obi's recent political moves, which have seen him form alliances based on convenience rather than principle. This is in stark contrast to his 2023 campaign, where he campaigned on the promise of a new political order that would challenge the status quo and deliver a 'New Nigeria.'

During the 2023 elections, Obi rose to prominence due to youth support and social media mobilization. However, since then, his political relevance has allegedly waned according to the APC. The party also described the Labour Party, under Obi's leadership, as fractured and lacking direction.

Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the ruling APC claims to be delivering pragmatic governance focused on economic revitalization, policy reforms, and national unity. The party did not mention any future plans or statements regarding the 2027 elections.

It is unclear what Obi's current political home for the 2027 presidential elections will be. He is considered a political wanderer without a fixed political base or hometown affiliation for this candidacy.

The APC's statement does not contain any new information about the Labour Party being fractured or lacking direction. The party's criticism of Obi's political moves and alliances, however, highlights the ongoing political debate in Nigeria as the country prepares for the 2027 elections.
