"In an open confession, Morayo Afolabi reveals her battle with depression, sharing her experience of deliberately walking on a busy expressway, hoping a vehicle would strike her"

Morayo Afolabi-Brown, a renowned Nigerian television host, has recently resigned from her position as host of TVC's 'Your View' after a 12-year tenure. This decision comes amidst a series of events that have placed her in the spotlight, including her controversial vote for President Bola Tinubu in the last presidential election and her openness about her personal struggles with depression.

Afolabi-Brown, who was appointed Managing Director of TVC Entertainment Channel when the channel turned ten, made it clear that her support for the President was not influenced by any benefit or government reward. She stressed that every Nigerian has a right to make decisions without fear or harassment.

The backlash from her controversial post did not affect Afolabi-Brown's stance on her personal voting decision. In an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, she urged Tinubu to consider handing power to an unnamed politician, stating he should rule for six months to show his "magic".

Afolabi-Brown's struggle with depression led her to contemplate ending her life. She shared that she had walked on an express road, hoping a car would hit her, due to her suicidal thoughts. However, she has since gained clarity and decided it was time to move to the next thing.

It is worth noting that there is no publicly available information about who supported Afolabi-Brown in the last presidential election or the reasons for such support. Additionally, she has not made any recent statements regarding Stella Okotete, six other women making Tinubu's ministerial list or TVC staff getting Tinubu's appointment, nor has she spoken about her experience with her first employer, Samuel Adedoyin.

Afolabi-Brown's name has been in the news before, with articles like "I've Never Benefited From Tinubu's Govt - Morayo Brown Blows Hot Amid Backlash From Nigerians" and "Step Aside, Let Him Rule for Six Months - Morayo Brown Tells Tinubu" being published on various platforms.

In her recent interview, Afolabi-Brown also addressed the criticism she faced for supporting President Tinubu. She reiterated that her decision was based on her personal choice and that she has not benefited from Tinubu's government.

As she steps into a new chapter, Afolabi-Brown continues to inspire many with her courage to speak openly about her struggles and her unwavering stance on her personal decisions.
