In Germany, a group of Pakistani men were apprehended by authorities after 18 women filed rape complaints.

In the western city of Darmstadt, Germany, a four-day open air music festival was the unfortunate setting for 18 reported sexual assaults and potential robberies. The incidents, which occurred over the weekend, have sent shockwaves through the community and prompted a thorough investigation by local authorities.

German police have made arrests in connection with the assaults, apprehending three Pakistani suspects. The suspects, who are asylum seekers, are being investigated for sexual assault and potential robbery. Initially, three women filed charges, leading to the arrests of the suspects, who are aged 28 to 31.

However, the investigation is far from over. Police are searching for two to three additional suspects, who are reportedly men from the South Asian region. The victims have described these individuals as being part of the groups that encircled and groped them without consent. The search results do not provide information about the identities of these individuals at this time.

The reported assaults bear a striking resemblance to the mob attacks that occurred during New Year's festivities in Cologne in 2015. Those attacks, which involved mostly Arabic and North African men, caused public concern in Germany, particularly regarding the influx of over one million asylum seekers last year.

The debate surrounding the asylum seekers has been inflamed, with far-right groups using terms like "sex jihadists" and "rapefugees." It is important to note that the connection between these terms and the incidents in Darmstadt has not been proven.

Since the initial reports, an additional 15 women have come forward, adding to the urgency of the investigation. Police are working diligently to identify and apprehend all suspects involved in these heinous crimes.

As the investigation continues, the community in Darmstadt is left to grapple with the aftermath of these devastating events. The city, known for its vibrant culture and welcoming atmosphere, is hoping for a swift resolution and a return to safety and security for all its residents.
