Las Vegas Sees Record-Breaking Tourism Boom in November 2024

Las Vegas experienced a remarkable surge in tourism during November 2024, with visitor numbers reaching new heights. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the city welcomed 3.31 million visitors, marking a 0.6% increase over the 3.29 million visitors in November 2023.

This growth was particularly noticeable in the airport, where Harry Reid International Airport handled 4.73 million people in November 2024, albeit a 2.1% decrease from 4.83 million in November 2023. Interestingly, the decrease was due to a 16.2% increase in international travelers, suggesting a shift in the demographic profile of Las Vegas visitors.

The strength of the month was weekend occupancy, which was up 0.4 points over last year at 89.1%. The average daily rate in November 2024 was $199, a significant 20.3% decrease from $249 in November 2023. Despite the decrease, the month of November 2024 recorded the second highest average daily room rates ever, after setting the record last year.

The surge was largely attributed to the second year of hosting the Formula One (F1) race on the Las Vegas Strip. The LVCVA also highlighted the SEMA auto aftermarket trade show as a significant contributor to the strong month.

However, convention attendance saw a dip, with 548,200 visitors in November 2024, a 8.4% decrease year-over-year. The LVCVA cited a decrease in churn of mid-size and smaller meetings for the drop in attendance.

For the year 2024, visitation is running 2.2% higher than 2023 with 38.2 million visitors. The airport count is up 1.4%, while domestic travel is up 0.8%. Surprisingly, international travel has seen a more significant increase, with a 13.6% rise, totalling 3.3 million visitors.

The increase in tourism also had a positive impact on the state's highways, with the average daily traffic on all major highways up 0.5% for the year. However, the number of people crossing the Nevada-California border on I-15 saw a slight decrease, with 2% fewer people crossing in November 2024, representing a 0.6% decrease for the year.

The United States, specifically Nevada, saw a surge in visitation in November 2024, contributing to the city's vibrant and bustling atmosphere. As of September 2025, there is no publicly available information indicating which international airlines reported increased passenger numbers specifically to Las Vegas in November 2024, nor is there data directly linking such increases to rising visitor numbers in Las Vegas commercial casinos. Nonetheless, the city's tourism sector continues to thrive, with the F1 race and other major events expected to attract even more visitors in the coming years.
