In urgent matters
In Germany, various emergency services and pharmacies can be easily reached in times of need.
If you find yourself in a critical situation, the emergency number 110 is at your disposal. This number was introduced nationwide in 1973, thanks to the Björn Steiger Foundation. The foundation was established in 1969 by Ute and Siegfried Steiger, following the tragic loss of their son due to inadequate emergency care after a traffic accident. The foundation has been instrumental in promoting key emergency improvements, including the introduction of the 112 emergency number and the establishment of rescue infrastructure.
For medical emergencies, two separate on-call services are available. You can reach them at numbers 116 and 117.
In case you need to consult a pharmacist, several pharmacies across the region can be contacted. The Bären-Apotheke, located at Mönchshofstr. 13, Viechtach, can be reached at (09942) 430. The Marien-Apotheke, situated at Falkensteiner Str. 24, Roding, can be contacted at (09461) 910270. Osser-Apotheke, located at Marktplatz 24, Lam, can be reached at (09943) 675.
The Fire Department/Rescue service can be reached at the universal emergency number 112.
Always remember to dial the appropriate number in case of an emergency to ensure prompt assistance. Stay safe!
