Individual Catedy from Georgia found possessing illicit substances in baggage, despite lacking a valid train ticket
In the city of Chemnitz, the Federal Police Inspectorate has been active in recent days, carrying out various operations.
On August 30, 2025, a 40-year-old Georgian national was checked by train escort staff and found to have no valid ticket. Further investigation led to the discovery of ten packs of coffee and a clip pouch containing a white crystalline substance. A drug test conducted on the Georgian national was positive for cocaine. Due to two hits in the wanted persons database and the violation of the Narcotics Act, proceedings have been initiated against him for violating the Residence Act as well.
During the same period, a 25-year-old German national was detected during initial border controls at the Reitzenhain border crossing. It was found that a warrant for his arrest had been issued. After paying 560 euros, he was able to continue his journey.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz also stopped a 46-year-old Romanian national in Reitzenhain, and his driver's license was seized due to a current driving ban.
Moreover, during the same timeframe, three individuals, two Ukrainian and one Afghan national, were detected who attempted to enter the federal territory illegally.
