In a shocking turn of events, a traffic accident at the intersection of Steinbeker Hauptstraße/An der Glinder Au in Billstedt left a 31-year-old pedestrian and a 28-year-old driver severely injured. The incident occurred around 3:45 PM on Monday afternoon.
Initial findings suggest that both parties had a green light at the time of the accident. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the street at a traffic light when they were struck by a car. According to preliminary investigations, the driver, who was turning left from An der Glinder Au onto Steinbeker Hauptstraße, apparently failed to notice the pedestrian before the accident.
The 31-year-old pedestrian was treated by an emergency doctor at the scene and was subsequently taken to the hospital. The driver, who was in a state of shock following the accident, also required medical attention and was hospitalized.
