Curtain-raiser: Man allegedly pilfering lawn ornamentations - garden chairs and tables - Individual pilfers outdoor furniture sets
A bizarre incident of theft has taken place in Lichtenfels, Oberfranken, where a 60-year-old man allegedly stole the garden furniture of a 24-year-old woman. The theft occurred on Monday, as reported by the local police.
The elderly man felt disturbed by the noise from the woman and her friends in the garden, and under the pretext of seeking peace, he removed the garden furniture from its location. The police, on patrol, found the 60-year-old man at a railway crossing, sitting in his car with a trailer attached. Upon closer inspection, they discovered that the trailer contained the stolen garden furniture.
The 24-year-old woman was informed about the theft through a video. The garden furniture was a regular fixture for her and her friends, and its absence was immediately noticed. The 60-year-old was consulted with the public prosecutor's office and was required to return the garden furniture to the rightful owner.
The 60-year-old man will now be charged with theft. However, no further details about his identity have been provided by the authorities. The woman, on the other hand, often sat with her friends on the garden furniture, and the theft has left them without a comfortable seating arrangement.
The police have reported the incident, reminding the public to respect each other's property and maintain peace in the community. This incident serves as a reminder that theft, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is a serious offence and will be dealt with accordingly.
